Hermann FreedomFest 2024 Parade and Fireworks

Date: Friday, July 5 & Saturday, July 6

Celebrate Independence Day with us at Hermann FreedomFest, the annual Fourth of July celebration. Events will include a parade, games, food booths, music at Riverfront Park, and a concert by Hermann’s Municipal Band at the Clara Eitmann Messmer Amphitheater.

Friday Events

Parade details: The Parade will begin at 6 p.m. It will start at 8th and Washington, then proceed to 5th, to Market, to 4th, to Schiller, to 1st, and right on Gutenberg.

Free Concert: The Hermann Municipal Band will be performing at the Clara Eitmann Messmer Amphitheatre, starting at 7:30pm.

Fireworks details: Fireworks will begin at dark on the Missouri Riverfront. Grab your blankets and lawn chairs and join us at the Riverfront Park.

Saturday Events

FreedomFest Kids Day: Kids activities at the Clara Eitmann Amphitheater, including Food Trucks, Downtown Ducky Dash, Face Painting, Petting Zoo, and Kiddie Tractor Pull.

Free Concert: Steve Leslie Band will be performing at the Clara Eitmann Messmer Amphitheater in the evening, starting at 7 pm.

A Wine, Whiskey, and Bourbon Paradise

Raise your glass — Hermann is renowned for its thriving wine, whiskey, and bourbon industry, and summer is an excellent time to indulge in handcrafted drinks at the many local venues. Visitors can take part in self-guided trails and sample various specialty drinks along their journey.

Copper Mule’s 5th Annual Bourbon Bash kicks off the summer trail season on Saturday, June 1, from 10 am to 6 pm

Visitors can delight in live bluegrass music starting around noon. BBQ will be available for purchase, along with Copper Mule’s famous bourbon slushes and other cocktails. Don’t forget a blanket, lawn chairs, or canopies to relax on the grounds. There is no entry fee to enjoy the festivities.

The third annual Hermann Whiskey Trail is set for Friday & Saturday, June 14-15, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m each day. A Tasting Pass will get you access to six official stops across two days, free trolley rides between trail locations, a 10 percent discount on cocktails, and a chance to win the grand prize after visiting all six spots.

Participating distilleries are Hermann Farm Distillery, Lionheart Whiskey Co., Fernweh Distilling Co., Black Shire Distillery Tasting Room, Copper Mule Distillery, and Polly’s Still.

If you love fresh fruit and grilled food, mark your calendar for the Berries & BarBQ Wine Trail, on July 27-28. Hours are Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Adam Puchta Winery

Tickets include a souvenir wine glass and wine and food pairings at each winery. Trail-goers can also enter to win a one-night stay at a local bed and breakfast and $30 gift cards from each winery.

Many area wineries and distilleries host special events throughout the summer, such as live music performances, food and wine pairings, and educational tours, giving you plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself in the Missouri Wine Country scene.

Outdoor Adventures Galore

During the summer, Hermann’s warm temperature and sunny skies make it a great time to explore the great outdoors.

If you visit for the 29th Town & Country Garden Tour, you’re in for a real treat. Set for Saturday, June 1, to Sunday, June 2, from 10 am to 4 pm each day, the event allows visitors to stroll into private gardens filled with early summer blooms and chat with local gardeners. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more who pre-book.

Cyclists and nature enthusiasts can embark on hiking adventures through the scenic Katy Trail State Park, which stretches for miles along the former Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad line. The trail offers breathtaking views of the Missouri River Valley and bird-watching and wildlife-spotting opportunities. Don’t forget, you can rent an e-bike from Pedego!

For those seeking a more laid-back experience, the town’s riverfront park is a great spot for picnicking, fishing, or simply lounging on the banks and enjoying the atmosphere. Hermann is also home to tennis and pickleball courts, RV & Tent campgrounds, city swimming pool, and more, all catering to those who love fun in the sun.
