Peepapalooza is an annual show held during Oktoberfest as a fundraiser for the Community Christmas Program (providing toys and clothes for children in the R-1 district at Christmas). The Peepapalooza (and, yes, we mean those little Easter marshmallows that come as chicks or rabbits) is a show where numerous dioramas made using Peeps are displayed. In this case, a diorama means a miniature, three-dimensional scene depicting a popular event, local activity, etc. – such as the climate change, Hermann sports, Oktoberfest, the new baby hippopotamus (Fritz), politics, Covid, Betty White, Ukraine, or a popular movie. Google “Peeps dioramas” select “Images” and you’ll get the idea and a good laugh to boot.
The show will be held at the Wagon Works Building at the corner of Gutenberg & Street, Hermann from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, October 7– 8 and October 14 – 15.
There will be many entries from our local school children. Entrance fee will be a free will donation for Community Christmas. If you would like to enter, we can give you the Peeps you need – just contact Bartow Molloy at 314.378.3387 or bartowmolloy@icloud.com.
