A Calendar Full of Festivals in Hermann, Missouri
Maifest Kicks Off Hermann’s Season of Celebration
As spring arrives in Hermann, the town begins to buzz with music, laughter, and the return of festival season.
Visitors and locals gather to celebrate traditions that have shaped Hermann for generations. Streets fill with the sounds of traditional German music, friends raise a glass together, and the spirit of community takes center stage. It all begins with Maifest, on Saturday, May 16. Join us for one of the community’s most cherished festivals, featuring Maypole dancers, German music, food, wine and beer gardens, and plenty to discover in the Volksplatz marketplace.
Maifest traces back to the town’s 19th-century German founders, who brought their customs, craftsmanship, and festive traditions to their new home along the Missouri River. Today, that heritage still shapes the rhythm of life in Hermann – from our architecture and cuisine to the celebrations that fill the streets each spring.

But Maifest is only the beginning. It kicks off a season filled with festivals, music, and unforgettable events that showcase Hermann at its most vibrant. Here are some highlights to add to your calendar.
