Hermann Municipal Band

Reflecting the historical importance of music to the community, Hermann has a thriving city-funded band. Made up of over 40 local musicians, ranging from talented high school students to professional musicians, the city band brings the community together to listen to traditional band music, patriotic songs, and marches. In addition, the director usually selects a piece or two to surprise the audience and challenge the musicians. The City Band performs on Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and the first Sunday in August. Performances are at the Clara Eitmann Messmer Amphitheater. In case of inclement weather, performances move to the Hermann High School Auditorium.
