Plans behind the Veterans Memorial Park in Hermann have been realized. The time has come to dedicate this incredible tribute, which honors those who have served our country in the United States Military. With several phases of the project now complete, the Veterans Memorial Park Committee and its associated parties are eager to induct this impressive new landmark.

On Sunday, November 10th, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, you are invited to partake in the inauguration ceremony for the Veterans Memorial Park. Expect a patriotic display in memory and honor of those who have served. This event will mark the annual observance of Veterans Day, and all are encouraged to attend.

Participants in the commemoration ceremony include the color guard from Hermann and Owensville High Schools and a musical tribute by the Hermann High School band with vocals by the talented Kammerchor. A dedication addressed to all military branches during this special celebration is also set to take place.

The focus of the Veterans Memorial Park is to honor Hermann residents who have served our country in the form of a timeless monument reflecting their names. At the center of the grounds, an American flag proudly stands surrounded by the service branch insignias.

Secondary phases of the project recognize and honor individuals who have served—in times of war and peace and those near or far. Bricks inscribed with individual Veteran’s names will be continually added. If you are interested in honoring a Veteran, brick purchases or donations can be made at Hermann City Hall or the Hermann Welcome Center.

This unique opportunity is the start of a new tradition for the town of Hermann. If you are a Veteran or know a Veteran, consider joining in this special event. For more information, see the Veterans Memorial Park Dedication event on Facebook.
