The Christmas Traditions continue at Hermann Farm, where visitors are invited to take a walk back in time to Christmas as it was celebrated in 19th-century Hermann. Author and historian, Dorris Keeven-Franke will treat guests to tales of Christmas traditions brought over from Germany by the first settlers who made Hermann their home. And of course, beautiful holiday decorations and delicious refreshments are part of the festivities. 

Experience Deutschheim Weihnachtsfest, a time-honored German Christmas celebration, at the Deutschheim State Historic Site. Its historic rooms feature Christmas trees decorated with authentic German ornaments. Visitors are invited to sample traditional German Christmas cookies and to learn how German Christmas customs became American traditions still celebrated today. 

The Historic Hermann Museum in the 1871 German School Building presents Ein Blick in die Vergangenheit, A Look into the Past. Tour highlights include costumed guides, authentic decorations from Christmases past, and the popular German Bake Sale. Enjoy music and mulled cider while shopping for your favorite German treats and learning more about the town’s history. 

Holiday carriage rides complete the old-world Hermann experience with 20 minute narrated rides through the historic district.
