Walking into Stomp’n Grounds Espresso Bar you’re immediately welcomed by the warm aroma of fresh coffee and baked goods. The space, purchased by Beth and Jamie Walker in 2015, has quickly become the perfect addition to Hermann’s downtown streets. Extensively rehabbing the 1870s building, they brought it back to life, and are now in their second year of business. The two found their love for coffee while traveling—they always found themselves in a café—and decided to bring what they loved about each place back to their stomping ground, Hermann, Missouri.

Making your way through the building you’ll find exposed brick, beautiful archways and a welcome, industrial vintage charm. If you step outside, you’ll be delighted by a beautiful pergola garden courtyard full of shaded seating, a firepit, and a tranquil water feature. 

Throughout the coffee house, their dedication to the local community can be seen on the art adorning the walls. Some of it is even available for purchase! And as if that weren’t enough, they even have Missouri-Made products such as granola, jam, honey, and salsa for sale.

Farm to table, seed to cup  

Stomp’n Grounds Espresso Bar believes in fresh, preservative-free products in order to help promote a healthier lifestyle, without sacrificing flavor.  They source all their ingredients from local Missouri farms and suppliers, creating a true farm-to-table experience. After meticulously product-testing beans throughout the state of Missouri, Blueprint Coffee Roaster, in St. Louis, finally provided both the quality and the taste Jamie and Beth were searching for. To complement their exceptional coffee beans, they also use farm-fresh milk delivered in glass jars from Ozark Mountain Creamery in Mountain Grove, Missouri.

Press, steam, sip, repeat 

For all you coffee fanatics out there, Stomp’n Grounds uses a V6 pour-over brewing technique to ensure the perfect cup of coffee every single time. Their coffee is even hand-picked instead of mass-produced, promoting their philosophy of sustainability. 

Chocolate lover? Give their Dark Chocolate Mocha or Chocolate Cow Latte a try. Stomp’n Grounds specializes in traditional coffee drinks as well as specialty drinks and even offers coffee cocktails.

If you’re not in the mood for coffee—no worries! They offer organic teas, hot or iced, 100% real fruit smoothies, craft beer, and wine. Ever heard of Caskai? It’s a tea beverage made from cascara, the skin of a coffee cherry. Stomp’n Grounds is the first coffee shop in Missouri to carry Caskai, so make sure to take a sip of this unique and refreshing tea.

Stomp’n Grounds does more than just coffee—they serve delicious, locally-sourced food. Breakfast is served all day, but they also offer an array of fresh salads, soups, and sandwiches, with gluten-free and vegetarian options available. Don’t miss out on their baked goods, like their home-made bread and cinnamon rolls that are always fresh out of the oven.
