A long-standing Hermann festival, the Maifest is scheduled for May 15, 16 & 17, 2020.

Visitors will experience traditions only a small town celebration can offer. Activities begin Friday evening when the local Jaycees will bring a live band, food & beverages to the City Park.

On Saturday, a walking tour of the Hermann historic district will highlight notable Hermann citizens and their homes and businesses from the nineteenth century, as well as demonstrate some traditional Maifest dancing. City Park events will continue with the addition of activities for children during the day.

On Sunday afternoon the charm of a small town parade will offer lots of music, colorful floats, antique cars and tractors, horse drawn wagons, and always a few surprise entries.  A Picnic in the Park after the parade will feature the dedication of a new bandstand with German music, food and beverages, games for children, and an old-fashioned ice cream social.

A Volksplatz on Saturday and Sunday, as well as more than thirty Hermann shops, will provide ample opportunities for finding hand crafted items, gifts, souvenirs, antiques, art, and many one-of-a-kind treasures.
