Freedomfest – July 4th in Hermann
Spend your July 4th weekend with us in Hermann! Explore Hermann during the day and check out some of the scheduled events. Then, stay in one of our guest houses, inns, B&B’s, boutique hotels, or RV or tent camp in our parks! For lodging reservations, go to Inviting Accommodations at VisitHermann.com. For RV camping reservations call 573-486-5400. No reservations are needed for tent camping.
The Hermann Area Chamber of Commerce is the lead organization on the 4th of July festivities. Here is the Schedule of Events for the day:
Firecracker 5K Run and/or Walk
$5 and canned foods for food pantry
Event starts at George Johnson Park at the corner of Wharf & Schiller Streets and ends at Riverfront Park.

5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Caboose Museum Open for Tours
8:00 pm Program
Corner of Gutenberg and 1st Streets
Route: 8th and Washington > 6th Street > Market Street > 4th Street > Schiller Street > 1st Street > Gutenberg Street.
7:00 p.m. – After fireworks display
Vendors at the Riverfront Park
Lion’s Club – kettle korn, bottled water, soft drinks
Harvest Table Eatery – pulled pork sandwiches, brats, soft drinks
Hermann Boy Scouts – funnel cakes, snow cones, soft drinks
Wine Country Wagon Rides – Rides for donations towards fireworks.
Parking Lot between Caboose Museum and Amtrak Station
7:45 p.m. – 8:45 p.m.
FREE Concert in the Park, Amphitheater
You may remain at the Amphitheater to watch the fireworks display.
Restrooms available until after fireworks display.
9:15 p.m. Fireworks Display
The Riverfront Park AND Wharf Street will be available for PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC ONLY on July 4, at 7:00 p.m.
Boats and vehicles must be off the Riverfront Park by 7:00 p.m. If not off the Riverfront Park by 7:00 p.m., you must remain parked until after the fireworks display. Boats and vehicles will NOT be allowed to exit the Riverfront Park until AFTER pedestrians have exited, and when the Hermann Police Department determines it is safe.
Handicapped plates/tags will be allowed to park on the Riverfront and on Wharf Street BEFORE 7:00 p.m. No entry on to Wharf Street after 7:00 p.m.
To allow for social distancing, lawn chairs and blankets will be allowed on the driving lanes of Wharf Street, after 7:00 p.m., and/or when the Hermann Police Department determines it is safe.
Donations accepted for fireworks display greatly appreciated. Donations may be given to the Chamber of Commerce or put in the bucket at the Lion’s Club stand.
Lodging guests of Wharf Street businesses may park on Wharf Street, but MUST be parked by 7:00 p.m. and remain parked until after the fireworks display.
Restrooms available at the Riverfront Park, Amtrak Station and Amphitheater until 10:30 p.m.
