Fiber enthusiasts! Curious about foraged, native plants for dyeing fabrics? Combine your interests and learn how to use some Missouri plants to create beautiful, vibrant, and nontoxic dyes perfect for silk & cotton fabrics.

Have you ever thought about creating and dying your fabrics for a quilt? If so, then plan on coming to learn textile dyeing with Katie Borcherding from New Haven, MO. Katie will provide you with all the supplies necessary to create your beautiful, one-of-a-kind fabrics (1 yard each of silk charmeuse and mercerized combed cotton). We’ll use foraged, native Missouri plants as dyes in this 75-minute workshop and will learn the process of plant dyeing on both protein and cellulose fibers. Be prepared for this fantastic hands-on workshop filled with fun and creativity! All ages and all skill levels are welcome.
