The Waterloo German Band, Deutschmeister Brass Band, and Loehnig Family German Band will be part of the entertainment in Hermann, Missouri August 26-28 as the community celebrates the 175th anniversary of its founding. Special events highlighting Hermann’s heritage will include German bands, dance and choral groups, heritage tours, special exhibits and programs, activities for children, and plenty of German food. This will kick off the formal observance of the 175th anniversary that will run through December of 2012.

BIG SMITH, BUTCH WAX & THE HOLLYWOODS TO PERFORM IN HERMANN [pdf]
Two bands that received “Best of Missouri” designations by readers of Rural Missouri Magazine will perform at Hermann’s Clara Messmer Amphitheater this fall. Big Smith, a six-piece Ozark Hillbilly band, will appear in Hermann September 17. Butch Wax & the Hollywoods, a 10-piece band playing top hits from the 50s, 60, and 70s, will return to Hermann October 2.
